Day 1: Arrival in Camogli, night in Camogli.
Arrival in Camogli, after checking your hotel, you will be able to get a view of what a coastal Italian town looks like. Enjoy the sea salt fresh air and the colourful fisherman houses. Wander in those little streets and discover the ruins of Castle Della Dragonora!
Day 2: Camogli – Portofino.
From Camogli you will have a transfer to San Rocco (not included). From there, you will start hiking towards San Fruttuoso. Take some time to wonder at the picturesque church of San Rocco. Keep going along a nice path til a picnic area in the woods. Then, you will start hiking down to the beautiful San Fruttuoso abbey. This little gem is well hidden and overlook the Mediterranean Sea. This stunning view is only accessible by foot or boat. After lunch, you can hop on a boat to Portofino. We really recommend to hike to the picnic lunch spot to enjoy the lovely views. From there, you will keep walking through the Mediterranean greenery till you arrive at Portofino.
Before taking the train or boat to Camogli, you can visit the lovely town of Portofino, enjoy a gelato, the Castello Brown or the high-end shops.
Day 3: Sestri Levante – Riva Trigoso- Moneglia.
From Camogli, catch a train to Sestri Levante. You will start hiking towards Riva Trigoso following the coastline track. On your way, you will hike through the Bay Of Silence and its stunning view. Keep climbing up to Punta Manara to enjoy the panoramic view and then to the highest point of the hike: the Telegrafo. Another stunning view that will leave you speechless, on a sunny day you might be able to see the coast of France. Then it is all downhill till Riva Trigoso and its beautiful beaches. To find your way to the 2nd stage of the track, you will go through an archway that leads to the coastal path. From there it is all up and down hill, with rewarding views at the Punta baffe and Cresta Comuglia. A bit further on your way down, you will get to a panoramic point of view of the lovely Moneglia. Then, the path is straight down to your rewarding gelato and refreshing dip in the sea.
Take a train back to Sestri Levante where you will stay overnight.
Day 4: Monterosso – Vernazza.
After a nice breakfast, catch a train towards your next destination: Monterosso. Welcome in the Cinque Terre national park. Located between the sea and the vineyards, Monterosso is well-known for its crystal-clear waters, beautiful reefs, medieval streets and lemon trees. After dropping your luggage, you will hike to Vernazza via the coastal path along the hills. Panoramic views are in the program.
Hike your way back to Monterosso or catch a train.
Day 5-6: Monterosso surroundings.
During those 2 days, you will be able to discover the Cinque Terre National park and more. Explore the quaint villages of Levanto and Riomaggiore with their pastel hued houses and medieval streets. Looking for hidden gems? Hike up the hills, discover the beautiful abbeys, churches, evergreen vegetation and vineyards of the Ligurian coastline. But most importantly the stunning overlooking views of the Mediterranean sea. You can hike to those places and most of the time enjoy a nice train ride back to relax, finish your day with a nice swim in the crystal clear waters.Food and wine lover will also find happiness, take a pesto course or a guided tour in the vineyards. The Cinque Terre is your much needed Dolce vita getaway.
Day 7: Train to Riomaggiore, hike to Portovenere.
Today you will leave Monterosso and head to Riomaggiore by train. From there, you will start hiking to Portovenere by following the edge of the hill and coastline trail, walk through Colle del Telegrafo and the village of Campiglia. Here there are the remarkable cliffs of Portovenere and the lovely fisherman village. After checkin in, have a stroll in the historic center, the picturesque harbor and even the Church of St Pieter located on a rocky edge.
Day 8: Depart from Portovenere.
This is the end of your Italian trip… After your breakfast and checking out we recommend taking a cab to La Spezia centre; train station or reach the airports of Pisa, Genova, Florence or Milan.
⚠️ Please also be aware that self-guided trek involves your own responsibility for the route you choose and the choices you make on the trails. We will provide you with a roadbook, map and GPX tracks but you will be hiking every day on your own and we cannot be responsible for the decision and events that may occur during your hike.

Cinque Terre
From March to October. The high season is from March 28th till October 5th: low season is March 1st to March 27th / October 6th to October 31st .
The Cinque Terre track is a medium hike level, with some steep parts but very doable.
The level is beginner.
On rainy days, the Cinque Terre track between Monterosso and Riomaggiore can close. You can check the alert on the website of the National Park of Cinque terre. If the tracks are closed, you can still visit the villages as there is a very good train network.
